It has Moser 31 spline axles, with large outer bearings. The rear end is a 9' Ford modified by Moser Engineering to fit a G-Body Chassis. It also comes with a SHOW QUALITY ROLLING CHASSIS. Dynomax Cermic Headers w/ 3' dual exhaust, 350 turbo transmission w/ B&M shifter, Eaton Postive traction rear end w/ 373 gears, new ball joints upper and lower, tie rods, tow in adjusters, drag lin, springs front and rear and front shocks. ![]() This 1978 El Camino SS w/ Ground Effects has a 383 stroker with 440hp the engine only has 857miles chassis true mile unknown (per the customer who traded it in). TERMS OF SALE:We are offering this vehicle strictly as-is, where is, with no guarantee of reliability. The tires are very good, with lots of tread remaining. The black interior is quite good, and has probably had some new parts installed. Ken believes that the frame was painted during a frame-off job. The body has been repainted to a pretty silver metallic reasonably well, though certainly not to show quality. The taillights are not working correctly. Factory A/C, but the compressor is missing. It is leaking badly enough that an overhaul or replacement will likely be necessary, and it probably can't be driven far as-is, so a tow or trailering will be necessary. It has an Edlebrock aluminum intake manifold and an Edelbrock carb The transmission is a three-speed automatic, probably a TH350. The engine smokes when started, and continues to do so, though it seems to run well enough otherwise. I don't know if it is original to the vehicle. The engine is a small-block, probably a 350, perhaps a 305. The odometer shows a little over 52,000 miles, but we have no way of knowing if this is accurate. There are a number of issues that will need attention. Then the previous owner ran into health issues and sold the vehicle quickly, so it may have been reassembled in haste. Ken believes that the previous owner was an older gentleman who was in the process of restoring the truck, and may have even been doing a frame-off job. The truck has been parked inside since Ken bought it, and driven very little, perhaps only 100 miles or so. We have the clear MI title ready for transfer to the new owner. Ken titled the truck in Michigan, where his second home was at the time, but he never took the El Camino to Michigan.
